| Our
Process
DataUnite uses a proven process to ensure your system will be installed correctly the first time. We like our
clients to know the process so they have a clear understanding of how
the system is installed and what services are included. During a typical
installation we work with owners, contractors, architects, and/or
interior designers. DataUnite prides itself on offering many services
above and beyond the standard installation.
Client Consultation
This phase starts with a detailed questionnaire and client interview. At this point we will determine the scope of the project and the client’s system needs. Consulting helps DataUnite customize a system that fits our client’s requirements and budget. Floor plans should be readily available for layout and product placement recommendations.
Proposal
After learning more about the client and project we put together a text document proposal and
scope of work. The proposal and scope of work outline the work to be performed and provides an estimate for the project and timelines.
In addition, it gives our clients a chance to ask questions, voice concerns,
and make changes to the project.
Design
After the proposal has been approved the design phase begins. DataUnite uses powerful industry leading software to design the project. At this phase we begin to develop a floor plan that will display equipment placement, hook up schematics, cabinet and/or rack elevations, pre-wire schematics, and basic product dimensions for each system if needed. The client will have an opportunity to review and approve the design to ensure they are getting exactly the system they expect.
Rough-in
This phase begins the installation portion of the project and is completed
before the drywall is installed. Rough-in includes installation of
phone, data, audio, video, and control wiring.
Trim-out
This phase begins after dry wall and painting are complete. Trim-out includes the installation of wall plates, connectors, media panels, and speakers. In addition, wire testing is preformed to ensure that the system will function properly upon installation.
Final
Installation
This phase includes connecting the equipment (control systems, audio/video components, HDTVs,
etc) to the home wiring. Final system adjustments and functionality
requirements from the client are recommended at this phase.
Programming
While most of the programming happens before the installation phase
(at the office), this is when final adjustments are made to the control
system. We typically discuss the operation of the system with the client and fine tune any last minute changes.
Testing
& Calibration
Testing and Calibration is a critical step in system performance. All
systems are tested and adjusted for maximum performance. All testing
is documented for client protection and managed in a client file.
Training
and Finish
This is the final step in a DataUnite installation. At this phase we
demonstrate the system, finalize any system performance, hand over all
product warranty and equipment documentation, and train the client on
how to operate the equipment. We feel this phase is very important because
our clients can get any outstanding questions answered and develop a
solid understanding of their new Integrated System.
Existing Construction
There is a misconception that an existing home or business cannot benefit from the recent advances in integration technologies. We can dispel that misconception. Unlike a retail store, we have years of experience retrofitting existing facilities. We know how clients want things done and we are equipped to provide minimal disruption and aesthetically pleasing results.
